After our two shows in Salt Lake City we hit the road, driving from there to a town in Colorado called Frisco. It was a long drive - a very long drive! Plenty of time to refine these web pages, but alas, I didn't do much of that.

After some much needed rest in Frisco we had a morning soundcheck for a 1pm show there - outdoors at a free festival. Not the biggest crowd we've seen, but our music was appreciated, and we felt lucky to finish just before some rain moved in!

Right off the stage we packed up and headed for Boulder, where our nightime gig at the Boulder Theater was expected to be a high point of the tour. The public in that city know the trio, and seem to respond to the group as one of it's favorites.

Bill Munyon has now shaved his head, giving some confusion to my photos. That's not me packing the truck!

The mountains and clear air of Colorado provide spectacular views while we're travelling - the down side is that I find I can't completely catch my breath in the high altitudes for a couple of days (and we'll have left by then) so I'll be gasping for air a bit during the shows!

The show at the Smokebrush Theater, in Colorado Springs would have gone perfectly, exept that the sound system arrived very late. So, though we were there from 1pm to soundcheck, we could only begin it at 7:15pm (just as the audience was supposed to be allowed in for the 8pm show.) No problem - Bill Munyon handled the sound very well, even with the minimal sound check, and we appreciated the enthusiasm of the full house. (Though Paul asked them to be "kind to us" at the signing after the show, as we had to jump in the van and truck and head off toward Kansas!

We had never played Wichita before, so the crowd wasn't as big as usual, but a very nice audience, some of whom drove from Kansas City, and the old Orpheum Theater was a beautiful place to play in. Some local friends of ours had very kindly put up welcoming posters at the backstage entrance for us to see on arriving.
