Feb. 14 - Ancona, Pavia
The stop in Ancona was quite interesting. We'd thought it was a press conference, but it was more of a public appearance, with press there. Some
questions, some speeches, and the Trio played a couple of pieces acoustically.
In the evening, after lots more driving, we arrived in Pavia, dinner at the hotel and bed -- that was our day off for the tour!
Next day presented us one of those tough road days - it was a bit colder, and the club had no heat in the daytime, so soundcheck was a
grim affair.
I don't think I've introduced Claudio, our co-promoter, who you've seen in a lot of these pictures. (Here seen trying to keep warm!)
I was coming down with the flu, so I got a ride back to the hotel for some rest before the show. And at the start of the show,
we should have guessed it was coming, heavy smoke effect on stage - I could hardly see the guys from where I was, and the first audience shots were... well...
But soon things cleared up.
Next, on to Verona, where before the show we had another of those conferences, this one at a music store.
The show itself was a good one. Paul is getting better at doing the introductions in Italian.
Feb. 17, Trieste and the second to last show of the tour.
It's a beautiful city, on the Adriatic.
More soon, it's Carnevale time in Venice, and we're headed there tomorrow.
Well, actually it's Mestre we're staying and playing in. A city quite close to Venice.
And the carnival is going on here too - hard to miss, since our hotel is right in the town square where the
action takes place.
Quite a crowd, isn't it. But, small compared to the ones in Venice itself!
And tomorrow we have the day free before
flying home, so let's have a full page of our day off in Venice.
