New York City

The Jones Beach venue is one we've all played at a lot. It's beautifully situated right on the beach, but getting there, through notorious Long Island traffic, is usually a big pain. This time was no different.

Hot Summer weather made for more people heading out to the Island, and more traffic jams. So all cars heading to the afternoon soundcheck were extrememly late.
But no matter, the vibe was great once the audience got in, and it was another fun show.

          

             

          

Another of those stage mis-haps that crop up... during Come Talk to Me, the phone booth just about fell apart as Peter dragged his phone line out of it.
That would explain the presence of the un-identified Orange man I caught entering the booth during the song. Repairs were made, the show went on (in fact, probably most of the audience didn't notice.)

          

Ever notice how bright the spotlights are during a show? Often located far back in the venue, they shine through quite a distance, and follow singers around the stage.
Well for some reason, tonight's main spotlights were extremely bright.
They're not often on me, but when Peter walked behind or near me, I found the light so intense I couldn't look up into it. I don't know how he does it.

Did I mention I've been trying to capture a good photo of our end-of-show bow? Amazing how many ways it can come out wrong. Still looking for the perfect one, but here's an example of tonight's attempt.

                                              



           June 22

Washington DC

The weather is great, as Summer has finally started. (Some people arriving for the show stared curiously at those of us who were immersed in a boules game on the only gravelly patch we could find at the venue.)

             

          

          

Some technical issues (after Monkey for some reason the stage was drenched) caused a small delay, and Peter introduced the "Orange People", as a few of them mopped the stage.
