On to Munich.
Next stop; Fribourg, Switzerland. It's a pretty drive today, from Munich through some of Austria and much of Switzerland, to the town of Fribourg, where we'll do our own show tonight.
The Porcupine Tree tour has a day off, and we were lucky to get a booking for the night - it'll be fun to do a couple of hours of playing - the 45 minute set we do as opening
act is fun too, but we're missing playing the other material.
Leaving Munich...
I see we're passing by the town of St Gallen, in Switzerland. The same path I followed years ago, in a van with the Peter Gabriel band - we stopped there for lunch on the drive through
Switzerland to a gig in France. And why do I remember that particular lunch stop? Not because I have a great memory - none of us will forget it, because we were arrested there on
suspicion of being terrorists.
We were eventually able to convince them of our innocence by singing the barbershop quartet Excuse Me which was part of that show.
This time, I'll recommend we stop elsewhere for lunch!
And, here we are at the cafe.
Kind of small... we'll make it work.
Pretty different than the large venues we've been playing with Porcupine Tree.
Packing back up for the long drive tomorrow, to Luxembourg.
(Yes, we will fit all that gear in the van!)
Okay, hello Luxembourg!.
I've never been here before -- but, alas, this is not the center of things.
In fact the show is at a mall area that's built around a former steel factory!
Circling the building looking for parking...
Turns out it's so big we can park inside...
(That was Michael playing Igor opening the door)
Interesting ceiling decoration!
Crew is setting up...
We spy a porcupine cake, destined for somebody on the tour...
The mood is excellent as we're about to go on...
My usual dark blurred attempt at shooting the audience;
And after the show, still having fun...
Next, on to the last two shows we'll be doing for Porcupine Tree - in Frankfurt and Cologne.
