Sept 4
Daily rehearsing - some pieces are getting better, others are giving us more trouble than ever!
Maybe Jakko's thinking he can control the goat with his remote
Part of the truck has boxes of the stuff you'll see at the merch booth
and progress continues on equipment
Well, it's rehearsals... so some refreshment can slip it's way in with the Funk Fingers
Jason's joined us as the drum tech (guess he won't have much work to do!)
It's not all work here -- we have nights free (I can finally get home a bit!)
One night, I was able to make it to Kingston's jazz festival in uptown
But mostly... more rehearsing...
more playbacks...
you'll be relieved to see we are eating well
Guess who's birthday...
Let's see, how to sing 'Happy Birthday' in 11/8?
Sept 5th now -- rehearsals have ended, it's packup time...
Caught some band pictures to commemorate our time here, at Applehead Studios, Woodstock
Why the goat? Well, for one reason, he's just there a lot of the time.
But also, we can't help but notice that on Facebook postings, goats attract a lot more attention than rock musicians!
And, we're pleased to see that Gavin has fans here in America
Think I will call this shot "Music From Big Crim"
Off to his next photo session
The first full pack up of the tour is always tricky
a lot of gear
Trusting that we'll get it all in, we now move to Albany for a production rehearsal at the venue, then next week the tour begins.
We're more than ready for that!
Just a word about a new album release of mine -- the Crimson tour starts next Tuesday, the 9th,
and on the same day the Levin Brothers CD and LP will be released.
Info about the 'cool jazz' album is on our website and if you order before the 9th, all pre-orders are autographed, and we'll send you an exclusive download track as thanks.
I won't be interrupting the Crimson tour blog again about that, but I do hope some of you check it out.
More soon.
