July 29th - the morning to fly to Rome and drive to L'Aquila for our last show.
But first, here in the town we've stayed at overnight, the van hasn't arrived to bring us to the airport.
The hotel kindly offers it's transportation...
And we have some doubts about fitting the band, luggage and instruments into this vehicle!
Aah, another vehicle to help us out...
Well, we did get to the airport, and only Francesco had to ride on the highway in the back of the truck.
So... we arrive on time to L'Aquila, for our setup.
A toast - Michael and Pat encircle the wonderful Francesco, who has been there for us throughout the tour - driving, helping setup, booking, and
even riding in the back of open trucks with the gear! --- Bravo!
This is the city that was ravaged by earthquake just last year - we only had time for a short drive around to see the damage, and repairs. Of course
it was sobering.
The show, outdoors, on a beautiful Summer evening
And So...
... with a quick shot of some past setlists, extra pedals, and other detria I'll have to decide whether to stuff in the
suitcase to take home... we have ended the June July tour of Europe. And also a long-ish string of tours for
Stick Men - starting with Latin America in March, we did that, then U.S. East Coast, then a show in Mexico, and some in Japan,
then two legs in Europe. Great fun, and we owe thanks to sound engineer Robert Frazza and mgr Marc Silag for sticking
with it all.
p.s. The other end of that... Home now -- and this is what my unfortunate wife sees on my floor the days after I come back from touring!
