Driving through Czech Republic toward Prague our van was pulled over by police. They prceeded to measure the inside of the van, and then the cargo area - all without searching our belongings or telling us anything about why they were doing it.
Maybe 15 minutes later we were allowed to continue our trip - now secure knowing that our van is the proper size!

Prague is always great to come to, there are special sights everywhere. This time I had very little time at the hotel, but luckily there were great views from the windows, when I was there.

At the club, a strange dancefloor part of the stage front, and audience all around it, so I couldn't get a single shot of all the people.

And, back at the hotel, views are just as nice late at night

April 25, we drive to Opole, Poland.

Though we've been before to many of the cities on this tour, Opole is one of the most familiar. In my case, Stick Men were there for a whole week, back in 2008, and played our first gig there.

Today's show is a festival one, outdoors, in the center of town.

Though we were meant to soundcheck at 3pm and play at 7, things got pushed back (as they often do at festivals with multiple acts)

We just set up at 3, and had a chance to wander through town until 9pm(!) when we would do quick soundcheck with the audience there, and played.

The dressing room had to be the largest of the tour!

Being in the city hall, it had some great windows...

and, as evening fell, a nice view of the square.

Here we go...

I found John lurking behind my bass amp, taking photos of the show. (He must have learned that from me!)

One of the great things about mid-city festival gigs is that you can walk back to your hotel - in this case, through a beautiful city.

April 25th - the drive to Katowice was one of the shortest of the tour.

In the hotel lobby, preparing to leave...

Soon enough, we're setting up at the club

where, even going into the bathroom, you know who's playing tonight!

Here is the audience as we're waiting to play

And so comes to an end this unique tour. We played 19 shows in 20 days, through 7 countries -- each show completely improvised, trying not to repeat anything we'd played before. We all appreciate the audiences' fortitude in joining us in that quest for something special. It was a special musical combination, a challenging agenda, and I am quite sure we'll do it again when the opportunity arises.
